She's a preacher, a teacher, a pastoral counselor, a clinical therapist and an accomplished writer. She counsels women and children from all walks in life, with a heart to serve those who often find themselves caught-up in circumstances they never asked to be in. For the past ten years Reverend Iris Lynn Bailey has answered the call to ministry. Rev. Iris is an ordained elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church - in service as an associate minister at St. James AME Church in Cleveland, Ohio.
She's founder and President of Pipeline to God Communications, an outreach
ministry where women
Rev. Iris has been a journalist and writer for nearly 30 years. And she's quick to point out, "The Holy Spirit has offered amazing Grace as He's guided me through a wonderful broadcasting career that began with a summer internship in Madison, Wisconsin and moved me into national recognition as a reporter and news anchor in Los Angeles and New York City."
But God had other plans for Iris Lynn. She attended Ashland Theological Seminary graduating with high honors and two degrees: a Master of Divinity and a Master of Arts in clinical pastoral counseling. "Our world is filled with people who are hurting; people who don't know Jesus." God has moved her into a ministry of formational counseling - a ministry of healing our "inner souls" in the presence of Jesus. She has communicated her desire to serve through conferences and retreats.
She is currently a clinical therapist in the children's division at a mental health agency in Cleveland, Ohio - the city that she calls her hometown. Her calling to serve has taken her into community homeless and recovery shelters.
Iris Lynn is an accomplished writer and a compelling public speaker with a love for the Lord that is infectious. She is the author of "Pipe Dreams." Her prayer workbook will be available this Fall. She is also part-owner of a second generation beauty supply business, J.T. Bailey & Company in Cleveland, OH. Her two sons, Jason and Eric are married and Rev. Iris is now a proud grandmother of three.
